SERVERS GUILD

The Servers raffle ticket draw is taking place today during the 09h30 service.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

The first Sunday school parents meeting will be held today after the 09h30 service in the Cathedral. It is important that all parents with little ones attend this meeting as we will also be doing the Registration. We request the support and participation of parents to make the registration process a success.

MOTHERS UNION

All the ladies who had indicated they would like to join Mothers Union, and those who had started late last year, as well as anyone who would like  to join or even want to know more about MU, are invited to meet with Mrs Nhantsi on the 19th February after the 9:30 service in the Lady Chapel. If you are not able to meet her then, please see her after the service the following Sunday or call her. The classes will resume on the 3rd of March 2017. 

CONFIRMATION CANDIDATES

Confirmation classes start today (19 Feb. 2017), after the 09H30 Service in the Martyrs Chapel. Please remember to bring your own Bibles and Confirmation manual. Confirmation registrations closed last Sunday. No new registrations will be accepted.

ECO-MINISTRY WEEKEND GROENKLOOF NATURE RESERVE 24-26 FEB.

Enjoy an unforgettable weekend in nature, joining members of the Eco-Ministry in eco-activities, prayer, reflection, sharing plans for the year ahead and culminating in a Sunrise service on Sunday February 26. Registration covers entrance and catering so booking is required. Accommodation in the Girl Guides Camp. Costs are: 

  • Sleep over Friday evening to Sunday morning: R150
  • Saturday (day only) for launch of 2017 programme/ bring and braai: R50 (children R20)
  • Saturday sleepover and Sunday: R100 (children R40)
  • Sunday Sunrise service: R20 (children R10)

GUILDS/MINISTRIES/ORGANISATIONS - REPORTS FOR VESTRY 2017

Kindly note that reports for the Annual Vestry meeting must please reach the parish office by Sunday 26 February 2017.

YOUTH GUILD

Youth will be having a meeting after the 9h30 service at the servers room, those that are interested in joining can attend the meeting or contact the chairperson.

SERVERS ADMISSION

The Servers Guild will be admitting new members on the 5th of March 2017 during the 9h30 Service. The Diocesan executive committee will be invited and other fellow servers across the diocese. Parents of servers on trial please take note that there will be compulsory practice for the coming Saturdays: 18th and 25th February and lastly 4th March. For any enquiries please contact the head server.

AWF AGM

The Anglican Women's Fellowship will have their Annual General Meeting and elections of leadership on the 11th of March 2017 from 09h00 – 13h00. Members are requested to nominate people to fulfill leadership roles. The roles are: chairperson, treasurer, secretary (all are to have alternates).The nomination form is on the notice board.

DEANS INSTALLATION BROADCAST

The Deans Installation service will be broadcasted on the DUMISA channel on Monday and Tuesday, 20th & 21st February. The times are 13h00 and repeat at 21h00 on both days thank you.

FLOWERS IN CHURCH

At the last meeting of the Parish Church Council meeting it was suggested that members of the Cathedral be given the opportunity to consider the sponsoring of the floral arrangements when they want to do a thanksgiving or a memorial. Should you be interested please fill in your details on the roster at the back of the Cathedral, or call the parish office for more information. The intention is to carry a brief note of acknowledgement (“flowers in lieu of”) in the pew leaflet on occasions when flowers are sponsored.

COMPASSIONATE COMMITTEE

A reminder to the congregation that the Compassionate Committee is keen to come alongside members who are living through challenging times. If you are in bereavement, or affected by serious illness, or in need of prayer support for whatever reason, the Compassionate Committee members would love to embrace you with their presence and support. Call the parish office of Ms Sangoni (see back of Pew leaflet for phone numbers) for more information.

The Cathedral is now in possession of a Speedpoint machine which enable members of the congregation to make donations, pay pledges, or contribute to the collections by using debit or credit cards. Members who want to make use of this facility should approach the churchwarden on duty before or after worship.
