NOTICES
CALLING ALL SINGERS: The St Alban’s Cathedral Choir is calling… and it might just be calling you!
Whether you’re a seasoned chorister or someone who sings happily in the car or shower, young or youngat-heart, we’d love for you to join us. Singing is simply better when we come together as a community. Come be part of something beautiful (and joyful) — your voice will truly make a difference. Curious? Our Chairperson, Chaile Makaleng (082 374 1364) will be delighted to give you the lowdown on becoming a choir member.
WORLD WATER DAY
This day highlights the importance of fresh water. It advocates for the sustainable management of freshwater resources. This day was designated by the United Nations in 1993 and is celebrated annually by each country. As Christians we celebrate the sacredness of water; for we are baptised by water and the call to water justice. The United Nations 2026 Theme for World Water Day is Where water flows, equality grows. When women and girls have equal voice in water decisions, services become more inclusive, sustainable and effective. This includes engaging men and boys as allies in promoting safe water, sanitation and hygiene for all, and in challenging the norms and behaviours that hold women and girls back.

CALL TO MEN
As part of the preparations for Holy Week, all men are urged to assemble at the Cathedral on Saturday, 28 March 2026 at10h00 , for a thorough cleaning of the grounds, garden, walls, etc. Men are encouraged to bring cleaning stuff, high pressure washers (for mould and all), garden equipment, refuse bags, paint and brushes, etc.
SUNDAY SCHOOL
There is a need for vigilance in safety and security on the church premises. Parents
are kindly asked to sit with their children after the communion/blessing as teachers return to their pews in
the church and there is no adult supervision when the children are playing outside. Thank you for your
continued support.
REGULATION ON COMMUNION
Parishioners are reminded that communion in two kinds has been made
available for those who wish to share in the common cup. As has always been the case, persons who wish
may continue to choose to receive communion in one kind only. Intinction (by placing the host into the blood
by either the minister or the communicant) is not permitted for health reasons. The person’s hand touching
the contents of the cup or the clerics touching the communicant’s mouth is unhygienic.
LECTIONARIES
Kindly note that lectionaries for 2026 are now available. They may be purchased from the
office for R 45.00 or from the Churchwardens after the Sunday services.
PARKING
Parishioners who wish to make donations towards the payment of the monthly parking structure are encouraged to do so.
