THE SEASON OF ADVENT

THE SEASON OF ADVENT

The Season of Advent is a time of hopeful anticipation, preparation, and spiritual awakening as the Church begins a new liturgical year. Rooted in themes of promise and light, Advent calls us to wait expectantly for the coming of Christ, both in the celebration of his birth at Christmas and in the fullness of his kingdom at the end of time. It is a season marked by watchfulness, repentance, and renewal, inviting us to examine our hearts, deepen our prayers, and ready our lives for God’s transforming presence. With its unfolding progression from darkness to light, Advent teaches us to hold onto hope in uncertain times and to recognise the signs of God’s nearness in our daily lives. .

Yours in Christ,

The Very Revd Moses Thabethe
